The assault caused the partial shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

Two more people have been arrested related to a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.

These detentions follow a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, two women had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt in the event. Five people went to hospital for medical care and were later released.

Police detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Police were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
